Driving between Washington, DC and New Jersey
 

Are there currently any major construction projects on I95 between DC and NJ that bottleneck traffic?

There were not one month ago. Just the usual traffic. More recent info, anyone?

Just avoid the Washington DC & Baltimore areas at rush hour. Then it is the worst.

Anything north of exit 7 can be problematic 7am-7pm, M-Fri due to volume of traffic on this heavily used stretch of road......

there is some lane closure on del mem. bridge but i don't think it's causing mjr problems. if you hate the highway you can avoid 95 between washington and delaware by taking route 50 out of washington (that would be in a north east direction) from 50 get on 301N then 299 in delaware (a right hand turn at the mc donalds) then get on route 1 north highway, STAY ON 1 to it's intersection with 95 north again, very near the del. mem. br.

this seems comlicated but there is rarely traffic and i just hate 95.

There are usually speed traps on I95 from Baltimore north to where the speed limit goes back to 65mph. The area around Christiana in DE tends to get very heavy too. You can bypass much of the NJ turnpike by taking I295 after the DE bridge. I usually pick up the pike by exiting 295 at exit 56, but you can pick it up earlier too.
