Drive times in Arizona

Does anyone know how long it will take to drive these following routes?

Tucson to Holbrook. (want to see Petrified Forest)

Holbrook to Chinle. (with a stop at Hubbell Trading Post) may do half day tour of Canyon de Chelly

Chinle to Cameron (with stops along the way to see Hopi Pueblos)

Thank You! Trying to plan 1st trip to Grand Canyon and surrounding areas.

Tucson to Holbrook will be a little over 5 hours.

Holbrook to Chinle about 2 1/2 hours driving time.

Chinle to Cameron on Hwy 264 about 4 1/2 hours. I like this route. It's also scenic but you miss the chance to see Monument Valley.

Have you checked www.maps.google.com or www.maps.yahoo.com?

utahtea: Would you suggest seeing monument valley instead of the hopi valley pueblos? Our tentative itinerary is as follows:

Have a great itinerary but need to shorten to 5 days and would like include Sedona if possible. I am crazy to try and do this? itinerary is as follows:
Day 1: Leave Tucson on AZ77 and stick with it to Holbrook. Scenic between Globe and Show Low, particularly at the Salt River Canyon. Plenty of lodging options in Holbrook.
Day 2: US180 from Holbrook to the Petrified Forest Nat Park. Drive through the park, great views of the Painted Desert in the north of the park, to exit onto I-40. Leave on US191, to enter the Navajo Nation, to Chinle. Check out Hubbell Trading Post Nat Hist Site on the way. Spend two nights in Chinle, The Thunderbird Lodge is good (www.tbirdlodge.com).
Day 3: An all day tour of beautiful Canyon de Chelly Nat Mon with you own Navajo Guide, available from Thunderbird Lodge. Educational and great fun.
Day 4: Head back south on US191 then take AZ264 to Tuba City. Whilst crossing the Navajo Nation you'll also cross the Hopi Nation. Check out the Hopi pueblos at Walpi and Orabai, the oldest continuous habitation in the USA. US160 and US89 will bring you to Cameron. Two nights at Cameron Trading Post and Lodge (www.camerontradingpost.com), very good retail therapy and excellent restaurant.
Day 5: Scenic AZ64 will bring you to Grand Canyon Nat Park for the day. Check out the Little Colorado River Gorge, Native American jewellery on sale here, and climb the Watchtower at Desert View for your initial Grand Canyon "WOW", on your way to the park. Enjoy the many overlooks and viewpoints and, if the budget will allow, for the ultimate Grand Canyon experience take a flight over the canyon, www.grandcanyonairlines.com. AWESOME!!
Day 6: Head south on US89 to Flagstaff, taking the scenic loop road to Wupatki Nat Mon, ancient Native American pueblos, and Sunset Crater Volcano Nat Mon, for a walk amongst the lava flows, on the way. If time allows check out the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff before your flight home.

My ideas on how to shorten trip:

Day one: Drive to Holbrook, get settled at HOtel, see Forest that afternoon.
Day two, drive through Navajo Nation to Cameron, skip Canyon De Chelly.
Day three and maybe morning of Day 4 Grand Canyon
Day 4 afternoon, scenic drive to Flagstaff
Day 5 trip to sedona and back to flagstaff.
Is this crazy? Crazy to skip Canyon de Chelly?

Are you flying home from Flagstaff? If you are flying out of Phoenix, I would spend that last night in Sedona.

Your first day from Tucson, you should be able to drive up to Petrified National Foest, see that and the Painted Desert, then go back and check into your hotel.

It would be nice to see Canyon de Chelly, but it is quite a bit out of your way for a 5-day trip.

Around Flagstaff, I would also suggest you see Walnut Canyon. It is onlty a few miles east on I-40.
