i cannot find a thread about this from a few months ago. we are driving from albany to montreal this week. which highway should we take from albany? where should we spend the night in ny that is fairly close to the canadian border? thanks for your help.

btw, news article a few days ago (USA Today???) stated Montreal room rates are up average of 316% over last year! Do you have THOSE reservations too?

just a quick correction. Rates in Montreal are up 31.4% over last year, not 300%+ --

I did a double take when I read that figure (it was print media, not internet; just cannot remember where, for sure) and I was going to check out prices. Yes, ~31% sounds more realistic. Thanks.
