drinking on beaches in Maui
Is it illegal to drink publicly on the beaches in Maui. i.e. beer in a plastic cup or something of that nature.
|
I believe that drinking in any public place in Hawaii, including beaches, is illegal. Although there appears to be little or no enforcement, very few people drink on the beaches. However, some do (myself included) and as long as you are discreet there should be no problem.

Its all about Malibu Rum and pineapple juice in one of those "super sipper" thingies with the foam around it---brings back fond memories of Kaanapali beach!

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Kapalua and on Fleming Beach, they served me cocktails all day while I sat on a lounge chair and that beach is public.

The guy is not asking about "being served cocktails". He wants to know if he can serve himself !!

Speaking of drinking, what are the Hawaiian brewed beers that a perosn should consume while in Hawaii ?

Hi xxx

I have direct experience on this subject. I never tried to hide my drinking of beer on any of the beaches of Maui or Kauai, even at 8 am. However I did not stumble around like a drunk or call attention to myself. This should not be a problem for you go have a few. Forget the plastic cup. Get yourself one of those insulated beer holders because unless youre chugging, in the tropics
the beer will get warm quickly

have fun
GP

Just in case its illegal, I always chug a few beers and some grain alcohol in the hotel room in the mornings before hitting the beaches.
