dressing for Vegas casinos
My husband is going to Vegas on business & I'm tagging along. My 1st time there- how dressy are the casino's? What do most people wear? Does it depend on time of day? Thanks for any advice!

Las Vegas is as casual as you want it to be. Generally dress in the casinos is shorts, t-shirts etc. Some people will dress up for the shows and/or dinner but it is never required. When I go it is strictly shorts and t's or polo shirts. Maybe slacks with a light sweater in the winter at night.

You will see it all in Las Vegas. During the day it is mostly casual, shorts, t-shirts NO Bathing suits allowed though. At night, it runs the gamut from people in very formal dress, wedding gowns, and casual. I am usually casual - think business casual at night. Have a great time!

I agree with the above, but I was really glad we were dressed up for dinner at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino - I've been told since that this is pretty normal for there.

I'd like to add - along with the suggestions to dress casually - that many casinos are absolutely freezing! I guess they think by making them sub-zero they can eliminate the cigarette smoke. In any event, I always either wear long sleeves or take a very light sweater.

Basically, the only requirement is that you cover your genitalia. And even that becomes optional at certain times of the day.

I never wear anything really good because it will stink with cigerette smoke in a few minutes. Seriously, it's a fun place but hell on your clothes if you don't smoke. Wear whatever you want, no one will care trust me. Anything goes in 'Vegas.
