dress code in las vegas?
 

howdy fellow foderites.
can you give me an idea on what you can + cannot wear in hotels in vegas ? also is there a swimming pool you can use without being a guest at hotel. many thanks baggieboy/ england

You will be welcome almost anywhere in Las Vegas if you are wearing a shirt, a pair of pants, and shoes.

Las Vegas is a pretty casual city, so casual attire is usually fine.For more upscale restaurants,you may want to check in advance to see if there's a dress code. However, shirts and shoes are required at almost all places.

It depends on what hotels, restaurants, etc. All in all it's pretty casual. Khaki pants, polo shirts, leather shoes would be safe. But most places you will see jeans, shorts, tee and Hawaiian shirts, sandals and sneakers.

Clothes wise just about anything goes and as others said you need to have shoes (sandals, tennis shoes, whatever) on your feet. The better (expensive) resturants will expect you to not be wearing a ratty t-shirt or something like that tho.

You need to be registered at a hotel to use their pool. The major hotels all ask to see your room keycard before you can get into the pool area. Good hotels also have you show your key before getting into the elevator to go to your room.

If you are interested in a great pool plan on staying at a hotel with one as you are not going to be able to use it otherwise. That said, the pool at the Mirage is lovely. The Flamingo pool is also very nice. Not sure about your budget so if you want more advise clue us in.

I assume you're visiting in the summer, when it's hot outside. Keep in mind, the air conditioners are turned on full blast, so you'll need a light sweater for being inside, and very light summer clothes, water bottle for outside.

Dress code? I can sum it up in 3 words: just wear something!

Comfortable shoes because you are going to end up doing a lot of walking no matter what. You definitely have to be a guest to use the pools, and be aware the pools close in the evenings; they want you in the casinos.

are you going on business, or pleasure? what hotel are you staying at? if youre staying at the bellagio or wynn on business id definitely recommended business attire. but if youre staying at san remo or ballys for relaxation,.anything goes in vegas as they say,.just what happens there,.stays there..if it gets too bad, you can always bury your problems out in the desert. :)

There are a couple of restaurants and clubs with dres codes - but they're more based on trendiness and expense than a traditional "dress code". You will see almost anything - or everything - in Las Vegas.

Walking through a casino at night in Vegas will show you everything from ripped jeans to ball gowns.

Hotels are very protective of their pools. I don't think they will let in outsiders. And they close at like 5 pm because they don't want you in the pool. They want you gambling!

In Vegas you certainly CAN "have everything" if you are willing to pay for it and as others have said, you hardly need to dress up to get it.

Stay away from my pool, too <G>

Are you talking about what to wear in the hotel itself or the restaurants?? I don't think any of the hotels have any kind of "dress code" when you're just walking around the hotel and/or gambling in the casino.
