dress code Hawaii
 
Can someone please tell me how casual the dress code really is in Hawaii?<BR>We will be dining in places like Chef mavros,3660 on the rise,la mer etc .what is the usual dress code for these places?<BR>thanks Linda

La Mer is not casual. Not sure of the dress code, but if you go less than jacket (maybe not a tie) you'll be underdressed there.

These are fabulous restaurants, and "resort chic" will do just fine. La Mer requires a jacket for the gentlemen, Mavro does not.

Try www.alohachefs.com to look up some of the restaurants you are going to. You may want to drop them an email to get an exact answer to the "dress code." I agree w/Kalena, La Mer requires a jacket. 3660 is a little more casual than that, though--I think the mentality would be "casual, but smart." I wore a knit dress there and it was OK.

Jacket OR long sleeve dress shirt is the dress code at La Mer. Anywhere else- 3660, Mavros, etc- a nice, starched Aloha Shirt and nice slacks will do for men. For women, a dress of any type or dressy pants will be fine.
