dowtown Chicago rooms for adult family get-together
My husband is turning 60 and our two "kids" and their spouses will be meeting us in Chicago to celebrate. When we get together in California we rent a vacation condo so that we can maximize our short family-time together. Three seperate hotel rooms just isn't as family friendly.
Could anyone recommend a condo, B&B or suite hotel in downtown Chicago where we can get ample room with common space for family time? I prefer that it be walking distance to the wonderful things downtown Chicago has to offer.
Thanks!

No personal experience (Chicago resident), but vrbo.com has some very attractive properties. Look for downtown or Gold Coast locations, though you might also enjoy some of the north side neighborhoods.

Hi
We recently spent a couple of nights in the brand new Marriott Residence Inn, on Dearborn Street (a couple blocks from Michigon Ave - one block from river). There were 3 of us (hub, grown son and myself) and we had a corner studio suite with a king bed and sofa bed - there was tons of room for us (including a nice kitchen) and the whole hotel was beautiful. I'm pretty sure that they do 2-bedroom suites, but not sure how many people per suite. However, 2 suites would be ample and, additionally, there are comfortable common-areas around the hotel.

Both ideas look promising. I'll check them out.
I worry a bit about renting private property (vrbo.com)instead of through an established corporation but there are some wonderful places listed.
Any others?
Thanks.
