Downtown Seattle Hotel/B&B in

We will be in Seattle in October and I am wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel or B&B that is downtown/waterfront or has easy access to downtown/waterfront area. We do not want to rent a car while we are there.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There are tons of downtown hotels depending on your budget. The nicest for view and location is the Inn at the Market, but it is pricey. Then you've got the Edgewater which is on the water.

There are many great options available through priceline but they will be more of the Hyatt, Sheaton, Hilton type, all downtown.

Janice,

We stayed at the Gaslight Inn (B&B) in 1997 and loved it. The owners were fantastic and my husband still talks about the scones they served for breakfast. It is NOT walking distance to downtown but it is a very short cab ride.

http://www.gaslight-inn.com/index.html

have a nice trip!
Nicole

Janice - I was just looking on the gaslight site and they claim to be within walking distance of downtown. We had a car so maybe it was closer than I remember....

Janice, I did a lot of research for a
place to stay while vacationing in
Seattle a few years ago and was very
satisfied with the "Inn at the Market".
The location was fantastic (walked to
everything including the downtown area)
and the hotel staff was very accommodat-
ing; even drove us to a distant restau
rant so long as we gave them enough notice of our plans* Be sure to take the time to travel to Victoria, BC. to visit the Butchart Gardens * We took an airboat early in the day and spent the entire day at the gardens (very impres-
sive) but wish we had the foresight to stay the night and walk around what seemed like a charming town before heading back to Seattle* I know we didn't stay in the most expensive room at the Inn but I am very picky about where we stay since we can only afford to vacation every two or three years and I was more than satisfied with the room we did stay in (city view)* The Harborview Hotel was just down the street from us and I did take the time to go there since it was initially the hotel we were going to book mainly because of location * I can't say if we would have been betteroff since it was less expensive but I can't imagine we would have gotten the same personal attention we did from the Inn being somewhat smaller* They do have a web
site (Innatthemarket.com)and you can see
many of what they have to offer* Have
fun..Seattle is a special city*
