Downtown Scottsdale or Downtown Phoenix

To add ot another post Ileft........I am traveling through the Phoenix area on a Saturday night and need a place to get dinner, hit a couple of pubs, and sleep, only to get up and drive to Tucson. I will not sightsee or shop so I am not interested in that. I have narrowed down to Downtown Scottsdale or Downtown Phoenix. My big requirement is that I am able to walk to the restaurants/bars once I check in. I am in my mid/upper 30's with a young mind. I can get a room in DT Phoenix for $106 or at the DT Ramada Inn/Scottsdale for $79---2 blocks from Old Town. Need to make reservations in the next 24 hours. Your help is appreciated. Just remember "Restaurants and Bars to walk to !!". Many thanks !!!

no contest. Go with Scottsdale. Everything you need is right there. Check out the Pink Pony for local flavor, then go from there...

Definitely Scottsdale....it's not even a question. You'll be close to tons of restaurants and drinking holes. By comparison, downtown Phoenix is a ghost town.

Another vote for Scottsdale - definitely.

Yep. Another vote for Old Town Scottsdale where there are plenty of restaurants, art galleries, bars, and nightclubs akk within easy walking distance. You can go to the website for axis/radius which is a nightclub in Scottsdale to check it out.

Not that you need another vote for Scottsdale, but there's nothing to do in downtown Phoenix!
