Doubletree Guest Suites, Washington DC
 

Has anyone stayed in this hotel in the last few months. I am booked there with my husband and my 23 and 21 year old daughters in July. I cannot tell much about the hotel from the website except it looks a little dated. I have the rooms at 150.00 each a night. If anyone can suggest other hotels that might be in a better location or nicer (but in my price range) I would really appreciate it.

susanj - we are booked for the end of June 1st of July at the Washington Suites in Alexandrea, they have a nice website with floor plans. They used to be apartments and have been converted so we have a 2 bedroom 2 bath (important to us with 4 adults) rooms are about 1100 sq feet for 269.00 a night. Not much of a savings from what you will be paying, but it has a full kitchen and space to spread out. Alexandria is a short metro ride into DC and this hotel is right by Old Towne Alexandria which I've been told has many nice shops, resturants and night life. Of course we have not stayed yet, so I cannot say if the hotel itself is nice, but the online reviews seemed pretty good.

Yes, it's a little dated. But an ideal location that is much more convenient then staying way out in Alexandria. I wouldn't fret about it, especially for the price.

eeyorelvr, I'd suggest you take another look at the Washington Suites. It is not what I'd call convenient to either the Metro or Old Town. You have to take a shuttle to get to the Metro and "Old Town" is another 6 blocks.

Thanks MikeT, but we really look for a suite that has two rooms, everything I could find in DC was a one room suite, meaning two adults would have to share a sleeper sofa in the living room. Thanks for the advise though.

Mike T- thanks for the input. We are going to have a car but don't really want to "need" it. I don't want to spend to much time riding the metro either. I will stick with what I have, especially at the price. I checked their rates recently and they have gone way up.
