domino sugar tours in baltimore
We had a great 20th anniversary weekend at the Inn at Henderson Wharf (my wife arranged the trip and paid full price for the room, which would have been too painful for me). Very nice place, great water views, nice time at the Walters and BMA, the Corner Theater in Fells Point, and dinner at Della Notte. Seems like most old warehouses on the harbor have been converted to hotels and condos (like our inn) but the Dominos Sugar factory is still operating. Has anybody been on a tour or know if there are tours of the factory?

Interesting question. We frequent Baltimore since it is only an hour from us. I have never heard of any tours of the Domino factory - doesn't mean they don't exist. Balitmore is working hard to improve it's image. There are a couple of websites: http://www.baltimore.to/baltimore.html
and http://www.baltimore.org/ The Hippodrome theatre was just renovated & reopened - can't wait until our Lion King performance. The Inner Harbor is a great area. Federal Hill is also great for walking around. The best sushi this side of the Atlantic can be found at a little stand in the Cross Street Market in Federal Hill. |
Thanks for suggestions. I ended up calling the factory (410 752 6150) and learned that there were no tours "at the present time". Too bad. Factory tours could be an interesting draw for tourists to charm city...
