Dolphins at Myrtle Beach

I am going to be taking a holiday at Myrtle Beach the end of August and was wondering when and where is the best time to see dolphins? Can you view them from shore or do you need to take a boat trip to view them? Thanks for your help!

I think you can see the dolphins at sunset right from the shore, it's quite beautiful.

Fallen,

Spotting dolphins from the beach is certainly possible. But dolphins definitely don't come in close enough to be seen every day. In fact, we haven't seen any dolphins from our 3rd floor deck (in North Myrtle Beach) since early Spring. Now last Fall, we saw dolphins practically every day for over a month. Obviously, it's unpredictable.

You might have better luck taking a boat tour. There are several that launch from Little River (in the North part of the MB area) and several further South, around Murrels Inlet.

Good luck!

Don't you know that Dolphins who are watched from the Beach have half the normal life span of Dolphins who live in seclusion!

Why can't you just leave us alone!

The best time to see the dolphins is in the morning.

Update

As luck would have it, we spotted several dolphins this morning, about 7:00 A.M. Conditions: calm seas, slight breeze, low tide.
