dogless inn in carmel
Hi, we will be visiting San Jose and Yosemite later this month and would like to spend 2 nights in Carmel. Many places booked up already so we will try for a midweek reservation. Because of allergies, we would prefer a place that does not allow pets. We would also like a king bed and a price under $200. I know -- fussy, fussy. Anywhere in or near Carmel is fine. We have already checked with Green Lantern Inn. Thanks in advance.

My husband and I stayed at The Cobblestone Inn, awesome location, pretty sure they don't allow dogs, our total with taxes for one night was 170.00. I think, we did have a queen sized bed though, I can't remember! But, honestly, it is SUCH a great place, warm, and there is a fireplace in everyroom.....great! Cobblestone is part of the Four Sisters Inn group, www.foursisters.com check it out!

I've been heavily researching Carmel and Carmel restaurants. I want to go there for my birthday and stay right in Carmel this time instead of our usual Carmel Highland's places. :)
I have a brochure I picked up our last trip in September that lists Pet Friendly accomodations. Here they are: Blue Sky Lodge Carmel Country Inn Carmel Mission Inn Carmel River Inn Carmel Tradewinds Inn (surprising!) Casa de Carmel Coachman's Inn Cypress Inn Hofsas House Lamp Lighter Inn Lincoln Green Inn Lodge at Pebble Beach Sunset House Vagabond's House Inn Wayside Inn There are also about 23 restaurants in Carmel that are pet-friendly. I have that list also if you're interested! Carmel is very pet-friendly and I have to say there are some of the most gorgeous pets there I've ever seen in my life. :) Last time we dined at Portabella a beautiful Golden Retriever walked in when it was raining in a yellow rain slicker and the hostess escorted them out in the back to the heated, covered patio. Have fun in Carmel! ***kim*** ((#)) |
Kimamom: Think you misread this post. Susan4 doesn't want to be around pets for allergy reasons. Maybe your post will help her decide what places to avoid!
|

Boy ! it was not long ago that someone told me that they did not want to sleep in a hotel that took pets because of dog drool on the pillows, LOL
Susan, I understand the allergy problem in Inns. We found that while they might not allow dogs, they might have their own or a cat that is free to wander into rooms .. Good luck! |
Thanks all. We booked the Cobblestone Inn. $200 room with 1/2 price the second night. Btw, it might be interesting to see dogs in restaurants. My husband is the one with allergies. My concerns are more along the lines of that mentioned by Scarlett. <smile>

Thanks, kimamom. I'm going to print this out in case I'm able to take a cross-country trip this summer. After reading Ella in Europe, this may be the next best thing to taking pooch to France.
Where is Doris Day's inn? |
susan, I have a large dog and therefore, most likely have been exposed to dog drool sometime or other ((&))..We stayed in a lovely Kimpton hotel in Portland that welcomes dogs, and someone mentioned that they would not want to sleep where dogs would drool on the pillows.
Whatever, if you are allergic is one reason, if you imagine dogs drooling on the bed, allergies are the least of your problems LOL I looked up the Cobblestone Inn and it looks charming! |
Doris Day owns the Cypress Inn and she lives in Carmel Valley! ***kim*** ((#))
