Doggie "Day Care" in Seattle and Portland
DH and I are taking a summer road trip to Portland and Seattle and we need to bring our 2 year old dog with us. Do you know of any place in the downtown areas of these 2 cities where we could drop off our dog for the day? He is a regular at our local OC doggie daycare so I can bring along a reference letter. Thanks, Lynnie

I really like Downtown Dog Lounge in Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle. They also have a location on Elliott Ave.

I know that they require a dog have a half day "evaluation" before they agree to a full day of daycare. I'm not sure if they'll agree to a letter of reference or not, but it's worth a shot!

In Portland,

I don't have personal experience with this daycare but they are a division of Outside In, an agency that provides care to street people and especially to street kids. Two locations, one of them on NW/SW Burnside next to the I-405 freeway so easy access on the way to and from your travels.

We were just on a 'round the country roadtrip with our dog and put him in dog day care in several cities and one was Seattle. We took him to a place called Central Bark www.central-bark.com and were very pleased. I'd suggest you call ahead and make sure you have all the necessary paperwork regarding shots etc. They also do a mandatory evaluation to make sure your dog is well-socialized.
