Dog friendly Hotels in Manhattan
Does anyone know of any Hotels in Manhattan or even Brooklyn that would allow pets (dogs to be exact)?

Thanks for any info.

Kathy

Hi Kathy,
Just got back from the city yesterday and we stayed at the Hilton on 42nd St in Times Square and they are a dog friendly hotel. We saw dogs in the lobby and elevator I am not sure if there is any size restrictions though. The hotel was very nice, very quiet considering the loud location also.
Good Luck
Marcia

Try a search on www.petswelcome.com. They list a bunch in NYC. There are other similar websites, too -- you can find them by doing a Google search for "pet friendly hotels" or something like that.

BTW, you may already know this, but many places that take dogs won't take more than one per room, so be sure to check if you've got multiple pups.

WHY would you do this? I assume you're going to sightsee, and leave the poor pooch in a tiny, strange room by himself? Can't you find a friend to housesit, a neighborhood kid to come by a couple times a day to watch doggie while you're travelling or at worse, a kennel?

Last night on the travel channel they showed "The Regency Hotel". Super dog friendly if you are rich. These 2 dogs had a beauty treatment, a massage, there own room, food served to them on a silver platter. They even have a dog menu. Really!

I cant comment specifically about NYC but Loews Hotels has a program "Loews Loves Pets", I would check out their website and see what they offer in Manhattan. We are going to give them a try in Montreal and Quebec City come January, so I know these two Loews accept dogs. Happy travels.

The Soho Grand

I have seen many people with dogs at the Soho Grand.

To I Like Dogs:
I suppose you stay at home all day, every day with your dog. You probably never work, so your dog is never alone.
You just might be the woman that Lassie moved in with after doing his Yahoo search, pleading with Lassie to finish her caviar.

I understand your point, but there is plenty to see just walking around with a dog in New York City, and Kathy just may be doing that. And I have seen the Soho Grands website, and they have a doggy spa! Beats hanging around the house for a pet sitter 1/2 hour 3 times a day.
