Dog Friendly Hotel In Louisville?
We're doing a roadtrip from Chicago to Atlanta and we were planning on spending a night in Louisville. We need a hotel that will allow us to stay with our 75lb golden retriever.
I don't know the area at all, but it looks like our route has us taking Highway 65 all the way down to Louisville, so something not too far from the highway would be best. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Are you planning to do anything in Louisville or just a place to spend the night? I prefer the downtown area. Residence Inn downtown should take your dog, but might have size limit. It's just off I-65 and a few blocks (longish blocks) from 4th Street Live if you want a night out. I had great food at the Maker's Mark Bourbon House (great presentation too) and of course, you can do bourbon flights. It can be a bit loud though.

I like De la Torre's (Spanish food, not Mexican), but there are lots of fun restaurants/bars (mostly non-chains) in a several mile stretch. There are trolleys to 4th St Live and Bardstown Rd. Check to see if any are near the RI. http://www.ridetarc.org/SearchByRoute.asp |
Thanks for the tips.
Mostly just need a place to spend the night. We'll have the dog with us, so we won't have a lot of freedom to go out. |
kybourbon is the expert on Kentucky. I just love LaQuintas for traveling with dogs. They are ALWAYS welcoming to pups and their owners and offer a free breakfast in the mornings. Other hotel chains have varied requirements/fees.

Thanks. We'll try the La Quinta.
