Does this itinerary sound feasible?

I'm planning to visit Arizona after X'mas.. Flying into Phoenix, heading north to Sedona for a night, then to Page, for a night, then towards Monument Valley and back down to Flagstaff for a night, then back to Phoenix for the rest of my stay. How is the driving condition during late Dec? Am I packing too much into a 5 day trip? Or should I just stick with hanging around Phoenix..

I think that is too much road time for five days. I would definitely skip Page and the others would probably be fine, though short times in each...The weather? Who knows? The guided tour into Monument Valley is three hours and can be done in the afternoon, but it will still be cold, though they give you blankets to cover your legs. I think you could fly into Phoenix, visit Jerome on the way up to Sedona(just about 45 min. between)...stay there and then up early to MV, tour, stay overnight and then onto Flagstaff, overnight and bck down to Phoenix...there is plenty to do the the Phoenix area and the weather might be safer, but northern AZ. is beautiful in winter with a little snow.

Other than driving a whole lot of miles, what do you want to be doing/seeing on this trip? That might help with answers.

Well, I'm not sure why you are headed to Page. There won't be a lot of time to DO anything. It is interesting desert - but not THAT interesting.

I'd do your plan with a stop at the Grand Canyon (South Rim) after Sedona. That trip would be very doable.

Have you been out there before? You may want to consider -
South Rim through Monument Valley, spend the night in Chinle to see Canyon de Chelly, south to the interstate, drive through Petrified Forest.

That would work in summer - but probably not winter since it gets dark so much earlier. I wouldn't be driving after dark on secondary roads.

Thanks for all the replies so far.. I enjoy taking pictures and the reason I'm heading to Page is because I want to take some photographs at the Horseshoe Bend and the Antelope Canyon. This will be my first time in Arizona, so I'm not sure what would be best. I'll probably want to do the whole grand canyon in another trip so I can skip out on that this time. Heading south towards Canyon de Chelly sounds like a good idea. Perhaps I can extend my stay 1 day or 2 to give myself some more time.
