Does anyone remember a hotel called the San Souci in Miami Beach?

I was going through some old pictures and found some of a trip I took with my mother and grandmother to Miami in the early 70s. The San Souci was the first hotel I had ever stayed in. I remember it was large, on the beach, had a pool with a slide and a large, fancy (to a 6th grader) dining room. I believe it was on Collins Ave.

Is the hotel still there? I'm heading to Miami for a conference and thought I might try to find it.

The Sans Souci is now known as the Riu Florida Beach Hotel-- at 3101 Collins, just north of South Beach. Never stayed there myself, but you can check out hotel rating sites like this one, as well as Travelocity. I imagine they've done some upgrading....

I too remember the name Sans Souci although I never stayed there. Just did a web search and it appears to be gone. It's either been turned into condominiums or another hotel name. Did you know it means "without a care" in French?

Thanks very much for the responses. I checked out the hotel's own website. The place doesn't look too bad - it actually looks nicer than what I remember.
