Does anyone know of a good shuttle service to use?

I am going on vacation in a month to FL and I am looking for a good, reliable shuttle company. Also, I am trying to maintain a pretty tight budget so I don't want anything terribly expensive. I will be arriving at the Orlando MCO Airport and I will be needing transportation to Miami. My family and I are going to South Beach for a week. There are 5 of us. Any ideas? Suggestions?

Orlando and Miami are about 4 hours apart if you're driving. You can take Amtrak or Greyhound, I believe, but with 5 people and luggage you might find it less expensive to rent a car.

It is 3 1/2 hours away; you'd have been better to fly to MIA.
But that likely isn't an option at this late date.

Can you rent a car? It would be the least expensive way to get 5 of you to Miami.

I agree - renting a car is likely your best option. This is similar to flying into Washington to visit NYC - same distance between Orlando and Miami.

Be aware that if you use a rental car and take the shortest route using the Turnpike there are exits which do not allow you to use cash so plan accordingly, route-wise.

@ Hobbert

I don't want to do the whole bus thing because I have done that before and it was NOT a good time for me. Has anyone ever looked at:

@J62

I was actually thinking about using a rental car. The place I found is pretty well priced. Do you know where I can find a rental for less than $50?

Thanks, guys!

I think this thread might be a plant - he registers - asks - then comes back w/ a link :?

Renting a car Problems
1. You will have to rent OUT the car at Orlando or otherwise pay an hefty fees
2. Parking charges would be high

@ asimm
So you think renting is probably not the best option?

I think you're right janis. On TA acehilm wants to get from Orlando to Marco Island

Seems like the price just went up...

When i look at the webiste you posted it shows $55/person for shared ride shuttle. That's $280 for five people.

The timetable is not legible - whoever designed that website doesn't seem to have a clue. If that's any reflection on the quality of the service I'd run away as fast as I could.

And no, I don't think anyone here has ever went through Florida Shuttle services.

Why wold you expect a rental car for $50 when the shuttle service will cost around $300? Rental is by fare the simplest way to go - and much cheaper than the shuttle.

@J62

No one ever responded to me on TA..

Anyways, I just called them since you can't seem to give a very good reply that adds any substance. They said their book system was down at the moment. Hmm. I might just rent a car. FSS is charging 250 for a private shuttle when I called. I can just rent a car for 60 dollars through Budget off Colonial in Orlando.

To the people that actually left a good reply, thank you for your suggestions. I think I am going to do the rental car like you all suggested.
