mahs, I wish you good luck with your change. Both sides are true, it is beautiful area but kind of isolated especially if you are comparing it to NYC or Boston. It will certainly be an adjustment.

I live in Seattle now but used to live in western Mass & Vermont. I started reading this thread only because Pittsfield was/is a 'joke town' is the politest way I can say it. So I'm very glad you've not chosen it for your home. Good luck getting into the swing of your new location.

Suze .. You put it so well in your earlier post .. you might commute from Williamstown if you worked in Pittsfield but not the other way round ... I see the light .. ! ! Thank you ...
