Seattle sounds like New England. Just a different coast. We've been below normal temps and very little sunshine so far this spring. Can't wait for summer either - it won't be long.

NH finally has some sun today. Yeah! I can't wait til it's in the 90's...bring on the heat! It has been positively dismal since late October.

This Nina is not from Seatte. She is from the East Coast, Mass. I think. I was thinking the same thing today those poor people in Seattle how do they stand all this rain??? I am so sick of it and I am in major "sun withdrawal." One day of sun, 4 days of rain. When will it ever end?? My flowers have major root rot. I doubt they will make it.

I don't think Nina is from Seattle but she doesn't say where she is. Well, I am in Chicago and it has also been pretty depressing. It has been very cold for weeks. Yesterday it was 80 in the burbs - this morning it was sunny but not it is cold and rainy.

Sunny and hot in FL: weeks and weeks of sunny and hot, but I've just come from my Dr with a Dx of pneumonia. Figure that out. :( Can I come to rainy New England? Maybe the moist air will help!

Colorado is not so great right now either. We have had a wet and cool spring that included a foot of snow on May 10th that broke half the branches on our trees. Tomorrow it is supposed to be a high of 48 degrees with possible snow. I miss the drought.

Praying the rain will stop so we can get out in the garden and get those yukon golds harvested. I see the ark coming, so time to get on board.

I'm enjoying today emmensely, but it is the exception to the season so far, here on Long Island. We have had rain, rain, and more rain, and the temp. hasn't gotten above 70 except for a handful of days, today being one of them. I can't believe I'm still using flannel sheets! I guess I should be glad I'm saving on those electric bills. No air conditioning needed, that's for sure! I'll settle for sun, with or without the beach weather!

Here in New York City, it's been what seems like months (!) since we've seen the sun! Ahhhh.... but today is gorgeous!! FINALLY!!! If it would only last more than a day, it would be great. :(

Michelle, do you think we will all wake up one morning and it will be blazing sunshine, 90 degrees and we won't see rain again for maybe a year :)

Oh sweet Jesus y'all, stop perpetuating the "Seattle is so rainy" myth. Seattle gets less rainfall than the national average. Are the skies often overcast from November to April? Yes. Do they get torrential rainfall? Almost NEVER. The rain is light or misty, the temperatures are very mild, and summers are absolutely to die for.

I guess y'all think that everyone in Texas wears a cowboy hat, too, am I right?

Scarlett, Unfortunately, we'll probably wake up one morning next week and it's going to be 110F and 90% humidity!! YUCK!! I still LOVE this city, though... ;)

Of course, today was beautiful in the Washington DC area, but tomorrow the rain returns. I usually have my flowers planted by May 5, but not this year, and my husband's tomato seedlings may not recover from their waterlogged state. They really don't look good. Usually we are schvitzing this time of year, and have been since at least mid-May. I hate to see what this unusually wet weather is going to do for the mosquito population and the spread of West Nile Virus. I'm loading up on the bugspray!

Yes, I live in CT and today is beautiful (first time in AGES), but I typed this after watching the forecast for the weekend, right after reserving an outdoor table for our anniversary dinner tomorrow night and guess what? More rain! And there's more rain in the extended forecast. I mentioned Seattle because I heard it rained a lot but after this washout of a spring in the northeast, I'm ready to move - I have the SAD disease, I need more sun!

Did you guys know that the average yearly rainfall is much greater in Atlanta than Seattle! True!

58 degrees and rainy this week in western Nebraska. I'm seriously considering turning on the heat tonight...usually it's in the 90's by now. We are in the 3rd year of a drought, though, so we're celebrating! I'm checking out resorts in Mexico, today on the web and living vicariously through their sun. Counting down the days till Thanksgiving and a family trip to Mexico.
