Starrsy, LoveItaly, cmcfong, anyone, can you please email me privately to explain the issues that beset JJ5? I am not accustomed to the anger she directs at me and I'm sure there must be more to it. Thank [email protected]

starrsville Jul 26th, 2006 05:27 PM

I will have to respectfully decline. I am not the best person to ask and I choose not to offer opinions. Actually, I don't have an opinion because I have no idea.

BayouGal Jul 26th, 2006 05:31 PM

Well, I tried, Starrsy, what more can I do? Thanks, anyway.

P_M Jul 26th, 2006 06:06 PM

I would SO love to join y'all, but that weekend just doesn't work for me. :-( But next year I will make every effort to come to a GTG in your neck of the woods, because so many of my fave posters live down yonder!! :-)

BayouGal Jul 26th, 2006 06:10 PM

I'm glad you will go next time, P_M, because the next time I'll be going too! What fun that will be, huh?! :) Y'all have a great evening. Thanks for making my online time at Fodorville so special. You all have come to mean so much to me and I am truly grateful that I found you all!

'Nite!:)

starrsville Jul 26th, 2006 06:17 PM

We're glad you found us to, BG. :-)

starrsville Jul 26th, 2006 06:18 PM

that should be "too"!

lynnejoel1015 Jul 26th, 2006 07:34 PM

Who's Andy Taylor??

starrsville Jul 26th, 2006 07:52 PM

Gasp!

parisonmymind2 Jul 27th, 2006 03:51 AM

Opie's dad.

cmcfong Jul 27th, 2006 04:06 AM

BG and PM, I am glad you are game to try next year. It would be lovely to meet both of you!
BG, I am sorry but I don't know what the issue is with the poster you mentioned.

Ya know starrsville I was just thinking the same thing about Bonniebroad. She's probably been busy with her GD.

BayouGal Jul 27th, 2006 05:13 AM

Starrsy's off to Arizona. I hope she manages to post so we can keep up with the fun she's having! :)

seetheworld Jul 27th, 2006 05:15 AM

Oh, I didn't know that. I hope she has a wonderful trip! :)

Thanks so much for the link to the story, starrsville. I am a long-time fan of the show, which has had a decades long legacy of influence on TV writers and comedians. It is an example of truly kind and at the same time quirky as h--- characters. I *love* the mutual respect shown between Andy and Opie. It is one of the best models of parenting--albeit artificial b/c it is TV :)--that I know.

starrsville Jul 29th, 2006 08:02 PM

HEY Y'ALL!

I am having a WONDERFUL time in Arizona. Can't wait to gather my thoughts for a trip report. This is the first time I've had internet access since the beginning of the trip.

I LOVE almost everything about the show. Can't wait to get back to Mayberry/ Mt. Airy!

BayouGal Jul 29th, 2006 08:07 PM

Oh, so glad to hear from you, Starrsy girl! You are missed!! :)

cmcfong Jul 30th, 2006 03:29 AM

Enjoy your travels, Starrsville. We are all looking forward to the trip report!

starrsville Aug 7th, 2006 06:54 AM

cmcfong, rain check on lunch at Goobers? The Asheville GTG isn't going to happen on that weekend. I've signed up for a Habitat for Humanity build that Saturday.

Maybe we can find a date that BayouGal could really join us! :-)

One of my favorite shows. I wonder if a US and a Russian diplimat showed up in the kitchen and came to a deal because of Aunt Bee's pickles.

I found the picture of the B&B a bit disappointing. Too modern looking. Homes built in the 40's or when ever don't look like that.

Where's the squad car?
