I thoroughly agree with Lisa too. As s business traveler who takes at least one trip per month, I never fail to see at least one thing on her list. Most of the FA's I have encountered have been fine. But I don't ask them for anything either. I bring my own supplies, mags, food, whatever I might need in a two or three hour span. For a few hundred dollars to cross the country or the ocean, all I ask for at all is a safe trip.

I don't know where you people meet these FAs. I like sitting in back of an aircraft so I will be close to the b-rooms as Dramamine makes me want to go alot. The FAs sit back there and are thoroughly nice to me. Maybe it's the attitude of superiority that turns them off, I certainly don't get a snotty attitude from them.

Ryan,

Sorry if my little pun about your name offended you. Did not mean to ruffle feathers.

You mentioned a book that I will never have time to read, although it sounds intriguing. In that book is a list of "rather interesting ways for FA's to get even with those who they deem to be difficult."

So, tell us: what are some of the ways they get even?

Thanks!
I can't believe how mean-spirited and petty MOST of these reponses are! I wholeheartedly agree with Stephanie P! The FAs I see are usually working very hard, and I would certainly like to see any of you people just serve ONE meal to a fully packed plane of people!

Note to Lisa2: If I had a tuna sandwich and milkshake in my hands, I would have SMASHED them both in the damn faces of those pesty BRATS!!!

On one episode of the "Here's Lucy" show, Lucy and Carol Burnett were flight attendants. They entertained the passengers by singing a medley of songs including "When the Saints Go Marching In". Whatever happened to flight attendants that did things like that?

I have to agree with C - fantastic. Good stuff lad!.

Stephanie/Erick/xxx, or whichever personality you choose to post with today, What color is the sky in your world?

Me May 2nd, 2002 08:46 AM

Al,

First of all, is "bigal" short for "big Al" or "bi gal". Secondly, in your posting you state that the new crop are "to dumb to get into college".

Someone may be "too" dumb but my guess is it's the person using "to" instead of "too", spelling "glamourous" with an extra "u", capitalizing "Flight Attendants" at the end of a sentence and abbreviating "FA's" with an apostrophe "s".

English 101 is still available.

Me

x May 2nd, 2002 08:53 AM

Hey ME did you ever think that Al just doesn't type very well??? No spell check here. I know PhD's who are terrible spellers. What a pretentious bitch you are!!!

Tom May 2nd, 2002 09:23 AM

x:
As far as I'm concerned x (or should I say AL) Al opened himself up for criticism the moment he labeled someone else as "stupid". When you begin attacking people on a personal level, you get what you deserve.

Me May 2nd, 2002 12:46 PM

x,

For the record, this is only the second time I have posted on this forum (actually, third, including this reply). I was unaware that someone else was already using the moniker "Me".

As for Al, Tom is right on the money. I wrote what I wrote simply because of the sweeping generalization Al made against an entire group. Plus, if you're going to call someone "stupid" and talk about his or her lack of education, you better darn well not lace your (Al's) attack with grammatical errors.

Just a case of the proverbial "pot calling the kettle black".

Me (from now on, "My)

I have never posted on here by any other identity than the one above. I don't know xxx or Erick.

Puns --

i haven't read the article ryan referred to, but here in the UK there is to be a TV show about the ways people in service jobs get even. the review i read gave an example of an FA sloshing a tea bag around a toilet before brewing it for a 'special customer.' bleah.

when i travel back home (around 16 hrs of flight time) i just bring what i need on the plane and just try to mind my own business. on one flight there was a man who drank a bit too much and the poor FA's had to deal with that man and stop him from harassing other passengers. they were very professional about it and not rude.

i just want to know what rules they have to follow regarding meals/snacks, once i woke up with a half-melted ice cream bar on my lap. yeech.
