Do you have to sell your first born to see the Getty Villa in LA?
OK, so I know they redid it and it reopened. For months I tried to book a visit in August, but they were only doing it through July and it was all not available. Finally the site shows August and September, but while only a couple of dates are in red (sold out) all the others are in black (not available). There are no dates available. What's the deal? Is it totally impossible?

Duh. I tried numerous times to call in the past, only to be put on hold for endless sessions, and then finally to be told that no one knew when they would make the August tickets available. I tried to call again today, just before posting, but after holding for about 10 minutes I gave up. How much Vivaldi can you listen to on the phone? Anyway, I just called again, since I had no idea the website wasn't working -- I just assumed no tickets were available. After a long hold (and more Vivaldi) I got someone who told me that all the internet tickets are sold out, but she was able to give me two for Friday, August 25, so all is well. Good thing too, since I don't have a first born to sell!

Hi Neo,
Please do report back on the Villa! I've visited it a few times years ago long before the remodel. It was amazing and I would love to hear what they've done.
The Vivaldi cracks me up. My company has had "The Four Seasons" as hold music for the last 4 years. I used to love it, but now I'm ready to tear out my hair!!!! Unfortunately, we can't change for another year. Going to be a loooooong one.
