We're in the "quiet evening, clear head the next day" camp, too. :) It wasn't always that way, however. :D
DH will be on call that night, so we will probably go out for a nice dinner on the bay, maybe pop some champagne alone on the beach at midnight while we watch the fireworks, and then go home to bed. |
Since DH and I bought a fixer of a house, we have become very boring ;) This NYE may just find us laying new flooring in the entry way.

The last NYE party I hosted I was on crutches! I refused to cancel and was ultimately stupid for not doing so.
Since that time, we enjoy quiet evenings at home and live vicariously through our sons, who always think of something exciting to do. :D |
mitchdesj, I hope you post back on Jan 2nd and tell us about fainting on New Years :D
We have booked a nice Italian restaurant for dinner, one of those Prixe Fix things with wine pairings and we can take the streetcar back, so now the evening is set, all I have to do is hide his NYE present ~lol~( hint-travel related) |
I'm with you, Scarlett, down to the NYE gift as well! We've done the whole crazy Manhattan out 'til 6:00am thing more time than I care to sort-of remember. So this year, we're laying low -- some champagne and caviar before going out to a romantic dinner at a local seafood restaurant, then home for a champagne toast at midnight and the exchange of little gifts.

My two boys and I are renting a condo near a ski resort and getting in some long awaited recreation this year(warmer than usual temps in Alaska, not much snow)..
Since dh is again out of town on a project, I told the boys they could each invite a friend(I'm meeting friends there), so I'm looking forward to bbqing some steaks and sipping cider with my under 21 gang, sitting in the hot tub and feeling great. My younger son's friend said his parents never do anything but stay home and watch tv on New Year's, the older son teased me and said if I want to have some wine, he can drive us home since he's 16 now.. yeah, right!! |
michelle, since the Yankee most likely will never read this lol, I will tell you that his gift will be a visit to a neighborhood near you in the near future :D

J Correa: Tell me more about laying on the new floor in the entry way! That's a fixer alright! ((A))

Ahh.... nice, Scarlett. Actually, it's my ex-neighborhood now since we left the city and moved to the North Shore of LI. I like to call us "ruralites" now since it feels more rural than suburban (horse farms inland and lots of untouched waterfront -- probably not for long, though).
