Do we need a Charlie Card?

One more Boston question. We will be there for about 4 or 5 days total. Should we purchase Charlie Cards for our transportation? Two of our guys are 11 so it appears as if they are free. Not sure what the best option is and I am sure we will use the T alot.

Thanks

I would. I just got back from a Thurs-Sun Boston trip and bought the 7-day pass for $19. I was able to use it for the Logan Express bus service to/from the airport in addition to going all over Boston via the T.

You save a bit per ride if you find yourself a Charlie card (U$2.10) rather than just using a paper ticket (U$2.65).

There are also passes for unlimited rides:
$12.00 per adult for 1 day; $19.00 for 7 days

Note: The Silver line (and any further subway connections) FROM the airport is free.
Logan Express bus service is to/from the suburbs.

Charlie Cards are NOT purchased. The card itself is free, but must be sourced from a T staff person carrying them (sometimes hard to find).

My SO found Charlie cards in a stack on the shelf of the kiosk inside the station, but later, when I joined him, we never saw that, so it seems to be hit or miss when the station is unstaffed.

I took the Logan Express bus to/from Copley Plaza, I don't think that is the suburbs. It's Back Bay.
$5 each way or free w/Charlie card or MBTA pass.
