I had never heard of Top of the Rock until recently. I think it has been opened since the last time I was in NYC. We've done Empire State Bldg. and will be in NYC between 12/26 and 12/30. Should we make a reservation to avoid long waits?

While there usually aren't long waits, you will be there during the peak tourist season of the year. Perhaps you should wait until you get there and make a reservation after checking the weather reports!
Just make sure you dress very warmly when you go. It gets very cold up there! But the views are worth a little discomfort!

We have gone to Top of the Rock twice during the holidays and had no wait whatever. Stop by ahead of time to get an idea and you can always book for later if it's busy. Be sure to take one of the coupons handed out all around midtown for a discount.

Actually, it's not overwhelmingly busy during the Christmas to New Year's period, especially when the weather is cold and snowy. YOu have to buy a timed ticket, but you don't have to do it far in advance.

I was wondering the same thing. I bought a gift card for Christmas for Top of the Rock for a family member who will be there 12/28-30th. Glad to know that it probably won't be impossible for them to get up there.

Both times we were up there (and also at the Empire State Bldg) it was very cold, but we just kept going into the gift shop to warm up.
