Do I need a car at the Kapalua Bay?

I have read the numerous posts on the KBH and there is one thing I can't find an answer: Do I need a car?

I do intend to go to the Westin and Sheraton, some hikes, snorkel/whale watching trips. Is there any transportation for this? Thanks

I personally think that anyone needs a car everywhere on Maui.

You should definitely rent a car. I can maybe see not needing a car if staying right in Kaanapali (my parents opted to go carless here), but not in Kapalua especially if you're planning a lot of activities.

KBH may have a shuttle for the Sheraton/Westin but I would still recommend a car.
