Do hotels book for 1/2 day in Kauai?

We will be travelling with 3 small children and check out is 10 am with flight not leaving from Lihue Airport until 11 pm - does anyone have any idea whether there's anywhere you can rent for day use?

Did you ask your hotel how much a late checkout would cost?

lcuy, late checkout for THAT late a checkout would be a full day's charge for sure (since they wouldn't be able to sell the room to someone else for that day).

In a similar situation, the Kauai Beach Resort offered to let me leave my luggage -- and then, use a "hospitality suite" to shower and change. There was no charge for this.

The hotel was "okay" -- but not a place I'd highly recommend.

But I agree with other posters that with the kids, it might be best to keep the room (at full price) until you need to go to the airport.

Or leave the hotel as late as possible, and keep them busy sightseeing so they sleep on the plane!

I would also ask about a real late checkout. They might let you have the room for a lot less.

They won't give you any discount if the hotel is completely booked. But, if they are 70%-80% booked as normal, they may do it.

You might be surprized! If they are not booked they may let you check out real late, it does hurt to ask...

We arrived somewhere at 4:30am they let us check in early - we went to bed - slept till 10:00am - so we had almost a full nights sleep with out paying for an additional night.

Good Luck -
