Divide ten days between Bryce, Zion, and Grand Canyon

What recommendations for how to spend ten days between these three national parks? How many days to spend in each Park? Will fly into & out of Las Vegas, and plan to stay inside each of the Parks. Thanks for your thoughts.

I had a ten day trip planned, but cut it back to seven. Ours was planned for June and looked like this:

2 nights GC South
1 night Page
2 nights GC north
2 nights Bryce
3 nights Zion

Because of time, we eliminated the south rim and Page for this trip.

I think one night North and South GC would be plenty unless you are hiking down into the canyon. Take a helicopter tour from the south rim. I would probably do a side trip to Calf Creek Falls one day, also would throw in Page/Lake Powell/Rainbow Bridge. Might want to stay two days in Page.

Thanks for your help. I have been reading about Page/Lake Powell and wondered about a trip to Antelope Canyon. Planning this trip for early May 2010 - yes, quite a way in the future, but planning for family means juggling lots of schedules. Uncertain if GC North will be weather-bound for visitors. Not hiking into the Canyon, but considering the helicopter. So appreciate your ideas. Just finished wonderful trip to Denali NP, so family ready to plan for next adventure.

If you are not going to hike, you would probably enjoy the Page/lake Powell area. Antelope canyon is neat and there is a nice half day smooth water raft trip from Page to Lees Ferry. I have some pictures of a trip we took in 2008 at www.flickr/photos/emalloy2009/sets. Even if you don't hike, do spend some time in Grand Canyon walking along the rim trail. You can walk as far as you want and then get on the shuttle at one of the stops along the way. For a neat quick place to visit, Cedar Breaks is not far from Bryce and on your way out of Veags or back to it you might stop at Valley of Fire State park and also at Hoover Dam.

The North Rim generally opens on May 15 and closes Oct 15. I think the GC will give you the biggest wow factor, but it is only for a moment. Bryce, Zion, Grand Staircase, Cedar Breaks, Calf Creek Falls, Lake Powell,Etc are all really more of the total package type places. Tons of options on things to do at all of those places. I personally like the cabins @ Zion, Bryce, and North Rim. We just like the cabins better. Check out Bright Angel Cabins. I would eat a meal in El Tovar. Don't think there are cabins on the North Rim. Hadn't made it to Lake Powell yet, so can't say much about that. I do want to hike "The Wave", sometime.

Yes, there's a variety of cabins on the North Rim. They reminded us more of cabins interspersed in Yellowsone than anywhere else.
