Distance from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon?
Want to see Bryce Canyon while in Vegas and curious how far the drive is. We have a reservation for one night at Zion next month, but have now decided do not want to split time between Zion and Bryce. So thought might could do Bryce as a day trip possibly from Vegas another day. Will have five days over all, but only one night will be spent outside of LV. Thanks.

The fastest way will be to take I-15 to Hwy 20 and cross over to Hwy 89. You are looking at a little over 4 hours one way to Bryce.
It's really to bad that you can't spend two nights on the road. Making two different trips means you will be driving 850 miles instead of 510 miles. Utahtea |
Utahtea,I have been planning this trip for about a month now, since we found a time we could go without our kids. I thought I knew what I was doing and booked one night in Springdale, thinking that one day in Zion, spend the night and next day in Bryce would be enough, then returning to Vegas for our return flight home the next morning. Since I have been reading up more on this, I realize there is so much I want to see in the canyons and I am frustrated. Now, I am wondering if I should just concentrate on seeing Zion for the two days instead of cheating myself and doing both parks half way. If I could find a room, I could probably go a day early, but not sure now if that is possible this late a date. Silly me, I feel foolish. There is so much to learn about distances and sights when planning a trip this far away. I am from Alabama. Anyway, appreciate your info, though not what I expected to hear.

ONe thing I did once when I visited Zion and Bryce was to stay a night in Zion and then drive through Zion to Bryce. It was a great drive

mommybryant,
I would keep calling the Byrce lodge and Ruby's Inn or any lodging in Springdale for a room one night earlier...I promise you won't be dissappointed! If you can't work that out...then it's a really hard call. I think I would be inclined to give both parks a little time so the next time you are out in the area, you will know better how you want to spend your time. Utahtea |
Thanks Utahtea!! I followed your advice and got lucky! I found lodging in a cabin in Bryce Canyon on the same day I had Flanigans booked in Zion. So then I called Flanigans, but no room available the day earlier. Then I called Desert Pearl and found a King room, poolside. So now, I just need to cancel the room at Flanigans! Andy also, the night in Las Vegas since we were not planning on being out two nights. Thanks again for encouraging me to keep on trying! I feel much better now having a night in both canyons. Appreciate your help. Now need to find a reasonable place to stay our last night in Vegas, a Friday! Yikes!
