The best time we experienced was the 10 days before memorial day. DEFINATELY stay on Disney property. My husband hates hotel rooms so we rented one of the mobile homes at the campground. Full kitchen, dishwasher, microwave,bedroom,pull out couch and (at least when we were there) full maid service! PERFECT if you have small children. There's enough to do at the campground alone to keep you busy for a week.
