DisneyWorld at Christmas--after that is
Is it just crazy busy, does anyone know? Thanks.
|
If you're thinking of going to WDW during the week between Christmas and New Years Day - that is the absolute busiest week of the year. Expect some of the parks to close their gates (to additional guests) by noon.
|
What if they close their gates but you have dinner reservations (e.g., in Epcot)...do they let you in? Thx for any info for newbies (=

epcot is the biggest park and I haven't heard of them closing it (maybe on NYE). However, when they close them, it is usually for a few hours in the middle of the day, and they start allowing people in later in the afternoon. This is one topic that you can probably get first-hand accounts about on disboards.

I remember discussion here that on at least one day last year during Christmas week, all but one or two of the Disney parks were filled to capacity and had to close to people coming in.
That sounds like an absolute nightmare to me. |
Hello all,
In Regards to Disney and the Capacity issue. Disney usually closes the doors due to capacity issues the week of christmas and new years. It could be 11 a.m. it could be 9 a.m. but it does happen. Guests staying onsite at a Disney Resort and showing their disney resort room key WILL GET IN NO MATTER WHAT. So lets just say it is Dec 26 and the park closes to new guests at 11 a.m. and two families go up to the gate. One is staying at the Pop Century (A Disney Resort) and one is Staying at The Gaylord Palms, a non Disney Resort. The Pop Century family will get to come into the park and the other will be turned away. Now this usually happens only at the Magic Kingdom, I have never seen it happen and any of the other parks. So if your going to Disney anytime close o the Holidays, Stay in a Disney Hotel. Or get to the Magic Kingdom early. Plus the Disney hotels are better, cleaner, and you do not have to pay the $11 a day to park. If you need more info email, me. I love to talk Disney. |
Thanks to all. I'll be back.

Angelo721 - thx a mint for the clarification; it's much appreciated!

klam, you should be fine, if you have give them your reservation number they will let you in. Also Epcot rarely closes. Lastly if the magic kingdom closes, you should be glad that you are not there as it will be miserable.
