Chris: We visited WDW last March on a trip starting on a Friday and finishing on a Monday. The weather was not great, actually it was the coldest weekend for last year, but most of the rides in WDW had fairly long lineups and the park was crowded. We waited an average of 45 to 50 min for each ride. You will be lucky if in May if the wait is less then that (probably longer). Epcot also has long lineups for their attractions as well. If your planning your trip on the weekdays there may be less time waiting, but I doubt it. Hope to have been of some help.

I don`t think that you will have much of a problem with line ups in May. We visited WDW in May of 1990 and the longest we ever had to wait in line was probably 45 min. I think of more concern than day of the week in May (which is still off season) is getting to the park early (1/2 hour before opening), and planning your day`s activities. If you know specifically what attractions you want to visit, you will save a lot of wasted time wandering around wondering if a certain attraction is worth the wait. It`s not too terribly hot in May, which is nice. Another tip is taking lunch breaks late morning, before lunchtime hits or in the afternoon to avoid crowds at onsite restauarants. The guide that we couldn`t have done it without was the unofficial guide to Walt Disney World which provides you with all the tips, where line ups quickly become long, which rides are worth missing, where to eat etc. It really is worth the $20 you`ll pay for it.
Good luck!

I live in Florida and have been to WDW many times. Last year, Disney ran a special for Florida residents that for $29 you can go to all three parks in one day - the parks are open til midnight at that time of year BUT the special, I think created huge lines. We did go on Memorial weekend Sun so I am sure it had a lot to do with it but we were in lines for Splash Mountain for two hours. We did go to Universal Studios on Memorial Day (Monday)and had no lines and the best day. If you can get to Universal, please do so - it is a great time. Watch out for lines at Disney, especially since they are doing a Florida resident special now.
