Disney's Caribbean Beach...is it rundown?

We are going to Disneyworld in October and have been hearing that the Caribbean Beach Resort where we will be staying is looking shabby and greatly in need of a refurbishing. <BR> Has anyone been there recently?

Haven't stayed at Carribean Beach yet but if your room is unsatisfactory when you check in, be sure to go back to the front desk immediately and ask for a different room. They are usually quite accommodating.

I have stayed at Caribbean beach twice and loved it. It is not that old of a resort, so I can't imagine it being too shabby. Julie is right, just ask to switch rooms if you are unsatisfied, but I doubt you will be.

I stayed there last year. They were refurbishing (inside and out) quite a few of the buildings. I would classify it as "average", certainly not "run down". Be sure to ask to stay near the food court and pool. We didn't know any better and had to walk (15 minutes) or drive any time we needed something. They have one of the best pools for kids (and adults).
