Disneyland tickets

I just saw a very helpful thread regarding Disney World tickets and thought I'd ask the same questions regarding Disneyland (Anaheim).

I am visiting DL in October for 3 days and wonder whether I should order tickets in advance? If so is there anywhere you would recommend to purchase them.

I live in London (but a kiwi) and will be leaving the UK in August so I will need to order them soon if they are to arrive before I leave.

Thanks for any advice.

If you are ordering them from Disney they have a will/call pickup booth in the Esplanade (outside the gates). There are some good discounts if you book through a "good neighbor" hotel also.

If you know someone from California have them buy the tickets using a state resident discount.

Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately I do not know anybody in California. I only know 1 person in the US and they live in Boston :-)

However, I will look into buying tickets through my hotel.

Thanks!

If you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can order your tickets with the hotel rez. This actually is the only discounted ticket possibility other than their fixed rates. If you have a Disney retail store in London, and I think you do. You can purchase park tickets at the Disney store.

Just to add - in the end I bought my tickets from Theme Park Tickets direct. http://www.themeparkticketsdirect.com/

It was the cheapest I could find them in ££. I went into the Disney store and they were more expensive.

Just thought I'd leave an update in case anybody is searching on this topic.

I'm going to tack on a question here: where does a CA resident get a discount? Is there a link? For some reason I though it was only So Cal residents that get a discount. I think I can get a slight one through my AAA office or the Disney Store (only on multi day passports maybe?). Thanks!

Sometimes at the Disney parks they have Southern California resident specials, occasionally I've seen them thru supermarkets. Never during summer, though, only in the slower seasons. Usually something involving a "two-fer" where you pay for one park and get a ticket for the second park to use within 30 days. (If it's not busy they'll usually let you park hop into the other park on the same day).
