Disneyland CA too crowded?
 

My brother is coming to visit with his family tomorrow. I'm considering taking them to Disneyland (California). I rarely go to Disneyland but I imagine this would be a pretty busy week.
Anyone ever go this time of year? What about Thanksgiving day? Will it be crazy busy?

I would guess it would be busier on after Thanksgiving than the day of or better yet a day or two before.

We were there Veteran's Day weekend, and although the park seemed full of people, the wait time for rides was only 10 to 20 minutes most of the day. At night, there was an hour wait on the popular rides, but with FastPass tickets the wait was brief.

I was in the park last night from 8pm to midnight and I would say that it was moderately crowded. The popular rides had 10 to 25 minute waits.

We went to California Adventure on Thanksgiving Day a few years ago and it was not crowded at all during the day. It filled up a bit in the evening.

I wish I could find some discounted tickets just for one day! Everything is a multi-day park hopper ticket. It seems a little criminal for tickets to cost so much at a place you want to take the whole family and feed them too : )

I heard the Christmas parade is really nice and the fireworks afterward followed by snow was magical. This will be quite an adventure for me as I have no kids an am taking four.

Are you a SoCal native? I believe they have a discount if you show your local drivers license.

Last weekend my daughter and son-in-law asked about the SoCal resident discount, but were told it is only for an annual pass.
The cost was $66 per adult.

I think they may start the CA resident discounts after the holidays. $66 per adult. Ouch! What's worse is they consider an "adult" to be anyone over 9 years old. :(

Have you considered Knott's Berry Farm? They give Southern Cal. & AAA discounts and kids from 3-11 are only $20. My kids prefer it over Disneyland.
