Disneyland Area Hotel

We're taking our 3 young kids to Disneyland this summer & need help choosing a hotel. We'll be in Anaheim for a week but at Disneyland for 3-4 days so we want a hotel with a nice pool, free parking & easy access to Disneyland. We'd prefer not to stay at the Disneyland Resorts. I've seen lots of reviews & still can't decide. Help!

We have jsut got back from our trip to Disneyland. We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn which is more like a motel than a hotel, but the rooms are serviced, there is free parking, a continental breakfast is provided, a pool, and a free shuttle that takes you to Disneyland, although it is only about a 10 minute walk anyway.

There were many many families staying there when we were there, and all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

This is not a 4 star luxury hotel but a family orientated hotel/motel which provides good clean accommodation at a reasonable price. The people on the front desk are very helpful.

Check out the reviews on Trip Advisor.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel a couple weeks ago, and it was expensive and awful! The bathroom was dirty (someone's long hair on the floor and tub) - and no coffeemaker in the room. Even Motel 6 has coffeemakers! Some family members stayed at the Doubletree ($129 + tax) and the rooms were lovely and there was a shuttle to Disneyland. The pool was smallish, but lots of chairs and umbrellas around.

We've stayed at the Homewood Suites twice and loved it...there is free full breakfast, an evening manager's reception (which is basically a free dinner...lasagna, tacos, hamburgers, etc.) and they have a shuttle to Disneyland (the first time we stayed it was free, now there is a small charge). The pool area is great, free parking, there is a Red Robin and Crab Shack right in the parking lot and a Target across the street. The price is a little bit more than other hotels but you save so much money by not having to eat out.

We've stayed at the best Western Hotels There are two next to each other)right across the street from main pkg entrance and were very happy- clean rooms, coffeemakers, free breakfast, several restaurants in teh same block.
