Disney World Tkts - need help!
Hi Fodorites,
We are a party of 4 adults and 1 child heading to Florida in about 3 weeks time. We plan to visit the park on 4 days, park hopper option is only needed for 1 of the days. I thought I was being very smart by buying the 3 days base ticket via AAA. Got a small discount on the prices. My plan was to buy a 1 day park hopper ticket separately as AAA only offers a 3 days base tkt or 5 day park hopper option. Turns out that buying a one day pass is hugely expensive as compared to buying the whole thing as a 4 day pass. Difference of $300+ for the 5 tkts. What are my options at this time? Is there any way to salvage my situation? Please help! Thanks. |
Can you contact AAA to see if you can return your tickets??

Skip the extra day at Disney and don't park hop. The park hopping option is really an expensive way to spend time traveling between parks, imo.
On your 'free day' you could just relax by the pool or visit Sea World. |
Go to Seaworld for your other day.

Sea World is already in the plan for Day 5. I agree with the opinion on park hopper, if I end up buying the one day pass, I think I will just choose a base tkt and stick to one park.

I'm not sure if this is still true, but when we went a couple of years ago, we added an extra day to my ticket and my DS's ticket since my DH had a conference. As long as we added/upgraded it during the valid time of the 2 day ticket(eg before the park closed) they gave us the better rate for making it a 3 day. We had to do this at a ticket services office at one of the parks (it ended up Epcot for us). You could have a AAA travel agent find out this information for you since you bought the tickets there; they could tell you what it would cost to add the last day once you get there and see how the overall cost works out.

This sounds very promising. I never thought of the possibility of an upgrade to the 3 day pass, but that just might be the solution to my problem!!

Guest services can add things to your ticket or increase your tickets from 3-day base to 4-day park hoppers. You can go to any of the parks, or at any of the resorts if you are staying onsite. I think park hopping isn't absolutely necessary, especially if you only think you will use it one day.

Hi,
I am so glad I decided to ask my question here. Upgrading our ticket is the solution. I called Disney and the agent confirmed to me the Guest services will be able to do this and I be paying the price for 4 day pass. Thanks so much! |
