disney world may 2 - 7

I am going to Disney May 2 - 7 (yay) and staying at the Polynesian. Please tell me about it also how are the crowds this time of year?

May is Disney's regular season, so expect average attendance. However, it is also field trip month for schools, so expect to see large groups of school kids there. Can't tell you about the Poly, as we can't afford to stay there!

May is a great time to visit Florida and Disney World. The weather is not too hot yet. The Polynesian is a good place to stay because you are on site, you can go to WDW in the morning, take a break in the afternoon, if you wish and go back in the evening. The crowds should be tolerable although the previous poster is correct many Florida schools have field trips and graduation trips to WDW at that time of year. Don't fret, crowds are part of the experience...happy faces on happy kids.

Don't know ages of children but if you require a stroller (even age 4/5 get tired at WDW) get there early. this past week they were sold out by 11 a.m.

have fun

In case you didn't know, the first weekend in May is Annual Gay Days at Walt Disney World. Each park is host each day (Magic Kingdom on Friday, Epcot on Saturday, Studio on Sunday). Expect lots of red shirts.

This seems a perfect time to go, the kids are not out of school yet and it is hot enough to swim. I heard the rooms at the Polynesian have been remodeled and the pool area is beautiful. You can walk to the monorail to Epcot. You can rent small boats called Water Mice and zip around the Seven Seas Lagoon. If you want to avoid large groups from school trips, why not go to Epcot on the weekend and the other parks on the weekdays? So what if there are crowds, I have been to Disney World the 4th of July and Memorial Day weekend and the trick is to get up early and get to the attractions you want to see most first thing. As someone else noted, you can go back to your hotel for a rest and a swim if you get tired. And don't forget to take advantage of Fast Pass. Have a wonderful time!
