Disney World - Four Parks in Three Day

My wife and I, with our four adult children will be traveling to Disney World over the Christmas holidays and have three days to visit the four parks, (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios). We will purchase tickets for multi park visits per day. We have visited Disney land in California often, but do think we must a least spend some time at the Magic Kingdom, if nothing else but to see whats new. Can you advise how you would split our time to get the most out of the three days. Thanks, JS

All of the Disney Parks will be mobbed while you are there. I would not try to go to all of the parks. If you do decide to try all four, I would split one day between Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. There is an abundance of info online about the parks. Pick out your "must do's". Get to the parks a little before they open and do your best to see the attractions from your list. But mostly resign yourselves to the crowds, relax and enjoy the day. Look at the website http://touringplans.com/walt-disney-...crowd-calendar for guidance the best days to visit each park, and use the fastpasses.

Choose 3.

If you have to combine, then MK and Epcot - since your kids are adults.

The parks will be packed. Plan to get there early and then possibly take a break during the dsay and go back in the evening.

I will be in line with you... a tad nervous about the crowds! We have the same amount of days there - we are planning on splitting up the days based on the early admission for D-world resort guests etc. - where are you staying?

We've done the same thing and many times, during the holidays as well as in the so-called off-seasons..emphasis on the PLURAL.

We always stay ON the property, usually at the Yacht and beach or the Boardwalk and we are two adults.

As mentioned above, there will be lots of folks there and I would assume, lots of FAT adults riding around on scooters which can be problematic, especially if you take the Disney transportation system.

I would go to the parks as early as possible. Be aware that the front part of the Animal Kingdom opens somewhat BEFORE the rear (where all the major "rides" are located) does.

You can, I think, easily do the MK in way less than a day but be prepared to wait for every single attraction, especially Snow White, Peter Pan and such.

The Studios can take a lot longer as can EPCOT. Definitely make use of the Fast Pass system, in fact you might go to one of those machines FIRST whenever you go to ANY park.

Have a great visit.

DW is far far different than DL. Magic Kingdom is somewhat similar, but different as well. Things aren't nearly as close together. Getting from park to park isn't as easy as you might think. It is very easy to get from Epcot to Magic Kingdom though.

Can everyone in your party go "all day" for three days-meaning very early to late? How each individual park is scheduled to be open will dictate some of your time at each.

I know you didn't mention a waterpark, but Disney's waterparks are our very favorite thing to do at Disney. They are that good.

Do as Dukey suggests and really have a plan on using the Fastpass. You must have a plan going in to get as much done as you can.

Get a touring plan. The Unofficial guide has good ones, but a map and an attack plan will do. Be there for rope drop. If you're on site, take advantage of extra magic hours. Make any dining reservations NOW.

If you are trying to do two parks in a day, I would agree that the first one should be Animal Kingdom, since it tends to close early. The second one could depend on operating schedule, and might could be timed to take advantage of evening EMH.

We are skipping the water parks (are they even open at that time of year? I did not check... it can be nice out but also we know the weather can be iffy in Orlando at times that time of year.

Good information Dukey thank you!

Last December we went to Disney for four days and it was very cool, even cold...I wore a sweatshirt a LOT. The waterparks are open but probably not well-attended and I wouldn't even try if the weather was warm enough...talk about waiting in lines..trust me.

Re EPCOT, depending on where you are staying....a good plan upon arrival especially if you are arriving as it OPENS is to go all the way to THE BACK and work your way forward..that way you can do the mexico ride if you want; see the Energy attraction and ride it; go to both the Canada and France movies, etc.

Thanks All,

Great input. MomDDTravel, We are staying at the Disney Village Hilton, so we will have some extra hours at the Parks. I appreciate the Fast Pass heads up and having a plan in advance.

The water is heated to 75-80 degrees year round. For us, the lines are less than (certainly no more than the rest of the parks). Of course, it could be to cold outside. I don't know how long to think the lines might be at Christmas. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach aren't always open, but one of them is always open(I think).

"Of course, it could be to cold outside"

In Orlando, yes. It's the air temps waiting in lines that would be brrrr-worthy. TL is not open. BB is. I was always amazed at folks playing at Wet'n Wild during the winter as I drove by. My only explanation is that they came from somewhere a LOT colder

With only 3 days and already 4 parks on the list, I don't think a Disney water park is a great addition to the schedule.

Wow - John - I wish I would have known about the Hilton Village - I would have tried to book there - and got "points" for our stay/money - I did not know there were any properties you could stay at that were not WDW hotel/resorts and get the early park hours/transportation - I checked with the Marriott and struck out - good to know - too late for us - but hopefully someone else will see this.

Okay - I was able to book a room there - and am very happy - the rate is very good and I like the location better than the Corandao Springs - and we get to earn our points - glad you posted John!
