Disney World - Boardwalk question
 

Hi all<BR><BR>I'm considering staying at the Boardwalk during my stay (either that, the Wilderness Lodge or Yacht/Beach Club), but I'm concerned about the noise from the boardwalk.<BR><BR>I'm a very, very light sleeper, and I would rather not stay at the Boardwalk if the rooms are not at least somewhat noise-protected. Has anyone that's stayed there had any problems with the noise (which I presume lasts late into the night)? <BR><BR>Thanks!

We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in Nov 99. We had a room overlooking the clown pool. We did not experience any noise at all. I would think that the only rooms that would have the possibility of noise are those that are directly over the Boardwalk itself. But that is relatively few rooms. Both the Inn and the Villas have many rooms that are far away from the restaurants and clubs. Just request a room away from the Boardwalk (perhaps one that overlooks a &quot;quiet pool&quot; and you should be okay. Also check out wdwig.com. If I did this right this is a map of the Boardwalk. I love going to DisneyWorld it's a fun place to visit .I've always had fun there.

We just stayed at the Yacht club last month. Our room was on the very end of the resort overlooking the dance hall at the end of the boardwalk. Yes, you can hear the music in the room at night. We wore ear plugs and were able to sleep anyways. However, we weren't very happy with the resort overall. There were not enough lounge chairs at the pool. Then we bought a VERY expensive lunch at the outdoor restaurant and then there were so few tables to eat at that we had to sit on chairs with our food in our lap to eat. The expensive part really wasn't what bothered me (I expected that!) but the food was HORRIBLE. Trying to keep track of the kids at the pool was very hard because it is really cut up and hard to get around it. We love disney but had a much better experience last time the resort that used to be called &quot;Dixie Landings&quot; (new name now, can't think of it). The room was smaller than the yacht club, but we thought the service was MUCH better there, loved the pool area and resort grounds. Ironically, it is a lower grade resort (and cheaper), but I would certainly choose it over the yacht club if we went back. Oh, one plus I forgot to mention about the Yacht club was that we could watch the fireworks from Epcot from the resort. This was great and we could even see them from our room balcony (which offset the negative of the noise from the dance hall!). Even still, Dixie Landings was overall better.

We've stayed at the Boardwalk, but we prefer the Grand Floridian. The Boardwalk area is too hectic for our tastes. The GF is a much quieter hotel.

When we go to Disney, we spend half our trip at the Grand Floridian and half at the Boardwalk. When wer're at the GF, we go to Magic Kingdom since the monorail is right there. When we're at the Boardwalk, we that the boat shuttle to MGM and walk over the EPCOT. It's great because you feel like you've taken two vacations. We fell like we get the best of both.
