Disney world accomodations: Coronoado springs or Swan and Dolphin?
we are going to spend two nights in Disney in October and see one park. Our options are Coronado springs (85.00 with discount) or Swan and dolphins (129.00 with discount). We generally prefer smaller quieter places. But it does not seem that that is available at Disney. Any ideas or recommendations?

Coronado Springs is not particularly convenient to the biggest attractions at WDW - it is fairly close to Blizzard Beach and Animal Kingdom but not walking to either. Swan and Dolphin are both walking distance to Epcot, the Boardwalk and a short boat ride to MGM. All three are large properties. As Swan and Dolphin are considered to be "business" hotels at WDW, families are less likely to stay there - it may be quieter for you. The more deluxe a hotel it is the quieter it tends to be. I would stay at the Swan/Dolphin personally. Check out wdwig.com or wdwinfo.com for additional information.

Check out Port Orleans-French Quarter, it is a moderate, so should be about the same price as CS and it is a lot smaller. Go to www.ourlaughingplace.com for a lot of pictures of the hotels.

Have a great vacation!

I stayed at Coronado Springs last year. It is not near anything. Seems like I spent a great deal of time waiting for buses to take me somewhere else. I would opt for the Swan or Dolphin.

129 is a great rate for The Dolphin. Where did you find it?

Thanks.

$129 is the Swan/Dolphin discount rate for teachers, nurses, and government employees.
Wiz,
The Swan/Dolphin is in a GREAT location. Try to book the Swan. It is smaller and more quiet than the Dolphin. Although we really enjoyed the Dolphin.

I agree that this is a great price for the Swan. But, if you want something a little quieter, I too would pick Port Orleans-French Quarter. Fairly small nice place. Much smaller than its sister hotel.
Duane
