Disney web site question

I know that this is not the best place to ask questions about Disney. Does anyone know the website that has the best answers from travelers?? Thanks for your help.

I'd be happy to answer any question you may have about Disney World. I've been 4 times in the last 4 years. But you can also check with a couple of websites like allearsnet.com, mousesavers.com and to get questions answered disboards.com

Laughingplace.com is pretty good too.

Definitely disboards.com - very active board. You can get tons of info there.

allearsnet.com is a wonderful site that we use all the time. Thre are reader reviews for all the restaurants, etc. There is a toll free number listed on this site that I have never seen on the Disney site, but it takes you to exactly the same place as the Disney listed number. It is 877-939-3732.
Also, Disneyworld.com of course.

disboards.com is very helpful, but go ahead and post here too. I live in the WDW area - which makes me very popular with my nieces and nephews ;-) and I end up there several times a year. I'd be happy to answer what I can.

Gee bennnie--I thought I was the only fodor contributor who was also a "Disney junkie!!" (or at least the only one willing to admit to it!!) :) We don't go as much anymore, but it remains a guaranteed way to "bribe" our 20 something to fly across country and go on a trip with us.

Bennie &/or dsquared, just interested to know, I have received in the mail my 4 x 5 day park hopper tickets (cards). My question is, there are 4 cards, but each card has a different park on the front? How do these work? I thought I understood that I had purchased a pass for each of us that would allow us to go form park to park as often as we wanted for 5 days? Are the pictures on each card relative to the park they can be used in, or can I just give both my teenagers a card each and say "see Ya" for the day?
Thanks in advance.

oh, and one more question. When we were at WDW, 7 years ago, there was a brochure for each park (obviously!!) I was wondering how I might get hold of them before we leave home? It would be great to have a good look at them for "time management". I know we missed heaps last time and this time there is an extra park!

another fodorite here who is also a disney fanatic - next trip in 14 days - yippy!

amcc Sep 30th, 2005 04:48 AM

the passes have different pictures on the front for decoration only. Sometimes they're different characters. Each pass is for one person, I believe they do some kind of finger scan the first time you use them to make sure they aren't transferred. The pictures help you keep them straight.

Some of the books have great maps in them, but the disney website has provided heaps of information. You might be able to download the maps there.

bennnie Sep 30th, 2005 05:11 AM

Aussiedreamer - amcc is right on all accounts. I believe allearsnet.com has the maps available for downloading too.

Since you haven't been in seven years its a good idea to peruse the maps before you go. There have been a lot of additions as well as some subtractions since you were there last.

Here's my quickie update...
New at Epcot -

Soarin' - a wonderful Imax ride/movie about California. Its in the Land pavilion. Don't miss this and definately Fast Pass it so avoid a wait.

Mission: Space - hard to describe space adventure that simulates a space liftoff and flight. Be careful if you tend toward motion sickness.

Gone is the pavilion about the human body.

Magic Kingdom

Mickey Philharmagic...4D movie but I didn't get to go so can't review.

Buzz Lightyear - silly fun arcade style ride

MGM - Rock n Roll Roller Coaster - simply the best roller coaster at WDW - fast, indoors, loud music - definately hits all your senses.

Go to Disneyworld.com and there is a place to request your free Disney information packet. It will include the individual park maps, a free video, etc. It will get you going!! Yes, you can buy the multi day pass that lets you go from park to park per day and it is much cheaper than a one day pass. Epcot is our favorite place, but if you have never been to Disney before you must go to Magic Kingdon first!! It is the most traditional dose of the Disney Characters. Try to work in once "Character meal". They are just a little more expensive than going to other sit down dining places in the area and such fun!! The absolute best dinner without characters is the Hoopty Doo Reveue. You must get your reservation in LOOOONG before you get there! It is very popular. Our teens thought it would be too silly, but they got sucked right into the fun!

I had requested a Disney Vacation Package, but don't ever remember getting the maps of each park that you normally get at the gate of each on your way in. I always bring a few from each home with me, so if you want I can mail them to you jenmarsh, my e-mail is [email protected]. I had used them my second trip ago to plan my more recent one, it's so much easier than sitting in the park with it and then making a plan.

I got a great deal of information last year from www.intercot.com. You can ask questions from others who know the parks inside out.
Have a great trip.

aussiedreamer Sep 30th, 2005 01:31 PM

Thanks to you all. I did try to request a Disney World vacation pack/planner, but they will only post to a US address.(I'm in Australia!)
But I will check out all the site you have recommended.
Thanks for the great update Bennie.
