Hiya,

Me and my friend are travelling from the UK and staying in Disneyworld itself in June for 10 nights. We have booked all this outselves and not through travel agents. We want to go to Universal Studios and Seaworld whilst we are out there, does anywhere in Disney offer trips out for the day to Universal/Seaworld, where we can get a coach/ticket when we are over there? Or will it be a case of we have to pre-book out tickets (we dont actually know what days we will be fitting them in) and get a cab/bus ??

Disney and Universal are actual competitors in the amusement park business, so I doubt very much that Disney would offer a day trip to Universal.

I'm guessing the easiest way is to get a taxi on the day you pick to visit Universal, and buy the tickets at the gate.

Perhaps I'm wrong and others may correct me, but one thing for sure is that either place "sells out" so you don't have to buy tickets in advance.

Yes, just take a taxi on the days you want to go to Universal or SeaWorld. Disney does not offer transport to other parks. The only reason you would want to pre-purchase your tickets is so that you would not have to waste time standing in line to buy them at the parks. The only park that I have ever heard of closing due to crowds is Magic Kingdom on really busy days.

but WDW buses their resort guests "for free" from MCO, so the OP may not be renting a car. You can pick up a rental on Disney property, though, and rent it for one day or for just a few days.
I've dropped a car off for my mom at the Disney Car Care Center (near the Magic Kingdom and its resorts) and it was very easy.

I would suggest a Taxi is the easiest way, if you're not intending to rent a car. Disney has great transportation between its locations, but does not make available transport to their competitors.

If intending to visit both Universal Parks, I might suggest that you consider staying at least one or two nights at one of their hotels. There are benefits to that such as the ability to enter the park early and the ability to use your room key to get on a shorter line on almost all their major attractions. If you spent at least one of your 10 nights at a Universal Hotel, your key works for that purpose from the day you check-in through your day of departure.

In any case, I would suggest that if your intent is to visit The Harry Potter World, you plan on entering that park as early as possible. That part of the park can fill-up quickly and you may find that they will give you a time to come back for entry to the Wizarding World. If you stay on property and get to the gate at the open, that isn't an issue. (It does take a good 15 to 20 minutes to walk from the entrance of Islands of Adventure to the Harry Potter entrance.)

I think we will be taking the taxi option as neither or us are keen on driving (weve never drove on the opposite side of the road before) Does anyone know roughly how much taxis will be?? We're people who are normally up fairly early and wouldnt mind getting a taxi to be there an hour before parks open if need be!! :)

I've no idea about the taxi cost BUT you might also look into a car service. I've used this co. several times over the years for pick-up from the airport and they have always been excellent. You might request a quote for your specific route. http://www.triotrans.com/

A cab could run $50 each way. When I said taxi, I should have been clearer in also stating tour operator.

I arrived in Orlando several hours after my family on a recent trip and arranged transport from the airport to a Universal hotel through Mears Transport, which operates a shuttle service. I might suggest you check this link. Given how many visitors take advantage of the Magic Express, I've got to believe someone has come up with an alternative besides just taking a taxi.
