Disney - Treehouse Villas

I'm planning our 3rd trip to Disney in Feb 99 with my 5 and 8 yr old kids. We stayed at Polynesian both of the other times, but are considering the Treehouse Villas because grandparents are joining us this time. Will I be disappointed after the convenient location of the Polynesian? How are the pools, good for children? Do you still feel like you're in Disney?
We LOVED the treehouses...for the ability to have so many people under one roof. As I remember, my husband had to drive the kids to the pool, however. Also, you must drive to the Contemporary, park there and take the monorail into the park. Not the best logistics but very good accommodations. Peacocks nest outside the door and once one even walked into the treehouse when someone left the door open. We liked it so much, we stayed there twice.
My husband, me and his immediate family all stayed at the treehouses. It was my first time there, and it was not my last. You have children, take them there! When we first arrived we were greeted by pheasant, a lot of them. The next night we were greeted by an armadillo. Its easy access to Disney transportation, nice pools, great service. Rent the golf cart to get yourself around, the kids will love it. Eight years in a row at Disney. Have fun. Jean
Hey Cindy... I haven't heard of Tree Tops :( I'm using a local web site (http://www.flamingo-travel.com) which lists the Disney Resorts and that isn't listed ... how new is it?

They are not new at all...probably were there from the beginning. The first time we stayed there must have been 1979. They are called "Treehouse Villas". The one we stayed in had two bedrooms (one with a jacuzzi that the children loved), a kitchen and a living-eating area on the top floor with a spiral staircase leading to the lower level and a laundry room. Everything self-contained and spaced far enough away from others to allow complete privacy.
