Disney Theme Park Passes
 

We're visiting Disney in a couple of weeks for the first time but were unsure what to do about the Theme Park Passes. Should we get them from here (UK) before we go or should we buy them there? We've also hired cars and will have two children with us. The 19 mos old has a car seat but we didn't know whether the 4 year old would need one. One source says they only need one under 4 and another says under 5.

I always buy my passes in advance because I like to have all my planning completed before we go. Is it cheaper for you to get them in the UK? If you don't want to get them before your trip, you can purchase them at the Orlando aiport at the Disney store. You can also purchase them online from the Disney website. Regarding the car seat, if you can get one for your 4 year old, then do it. Why take chances?

FYI: The car seat law is actually 4 years and 40 pounds. It's not either one or the other--it is BOTH.

Dear Jan, <BR> Whenever we have been, we have not bothered to buy passes in the UK, but we have instead bought them from the Disney Hotels where we stay. We have found that there is little or no difference in price between buying them here and buying them when you arrive. If you don't stay in a Disney hotel, then maybe get up early one day and get them from one of the parks. Don't forget that you can buy passes in any Disney store in the UK!!! Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you get a pass that will allow you to see enough of the parks. There is so much to see that a 7 or maybe even 9 day pass might not be a bad idea. The car rental companies will supply a car seat free of charge I believe. We have found that most of the airlines now count a car seat as one piece of checked baggage. The law is 40lbs and 4 but a car seat is a must. Have a great time.
