Disney Restaurants
 

I'll be at Disney in three weeks -- staying at the Carribean Beach. Can anyone recommend some restaurants that are worth the visit or breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, what's Pleasure Island all about -- I haven't been there in 10 years. Thanks for any recommendations.

we just nosh during the day and relax with a leisurely dinner at night: our faves are: The California Grill on top of the Contemporary (incredible wines and all available by the glass & a view of fireworks), Portobello Yacht Club (Italian cuisine with fabulous Italian wines). Pleasure Island is sort of an adult disneyland...no kiddies and it opens after 8 or 9 p.m. with a single admission and no drink minimums you can take your drink and wander around from night club to nightclub..there's every kind of music and a cute comedy club based on an English travellers club from the 20's. Much fun and you may even get to dance.

We stayed at the Carribean Beach last year. Make sure you tell them you'd like to be close to the main pool. It's one of the best pools in Disney (for children)! Restaurants are VERY expensive. There is a very nice restaurant at the Carribean. We gave it a try one night and it was actually very good. If you're going to the Animal Kingdom try the Rainforest Cafe. Make sure you call WDW and make reservations (priority seating) NOW!!! <BR>

Some good restaurants are: <BR> <BR>Tony's Town Square Restaurant (Italian), Magic Kingdom <BR>Character Breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends, Magic Kingdom <BR>Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary <BR>Akershus (Norwegian), Epcot <BR>The Coral Reef (Seafood), Epcot <BR>Marrakesh (Moroccan), Epcot <BR>Mama Melrose's (Italian), MGM <BR>Spoodles (Mediterranean), Boardwalk <BR>Ghiradelli's (CHOCOLATE!!), Downtown Disney <BR>Also, remember to make your priority seating arrangements in advance. You can make them as early as 30 days in advance, some restaurants take them at 60 days. If you want to go to the character breakfast at Cinderella's Castle, then definitely make your reservations now. It's the most popular. Pleasure Island can be fun. The English travellers club is called The Adventurers Club and is definitely worth a visit. The Comedy Club is also good. Just be advised that it will still be considered spring break when you are there, so you will likely encounter a lot of drunken college students. That has gotten to be a big problem at Pleasure Island in the past few years. Disney is currently talking about what to do about it, because it really is a turn off for a lot of people. I really enjoyed the "Hoop De Do Revue". <BR>It is more of a old dance hall dinner show, than a fine restaurant. It is a night true to Disney tradition with entertainment from start to finish. There is audience participation and plenty of music. As well we also enjoyed our meal at the Mexican Pavilion <BR>at Epcot.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Can anyone give me an idea of what the dress code is for some of these places. I'm assuming it's casual, but how casual. Also, any thoughts on what weather I can expect. Thanks again.

The restaurants are pretty casual. My husband and I rarely change before dinner after going to the parks. The only restaurant in which you need to really get dressed is Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian.
