Disney Resort/Cruise Vacation

Leaving for DisneyWorld this weekend with my husband and 3 children - 17,15 and 5. We will be staying at Polynesian resort for 4 days and then cruise for 3 days. This is our first time at Disney. Would like to spend one day at Universal Studios. Is Universal far from Disney? Any suggestions regarding which parks to visit, where to eat, or any other helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

I loved the Polynesian! Kona Cafe has a great lunch menu (if you are around at that time of day), and they have fruit smoothies you can get 'to go' from the restaurant's check-in counter. Also, O'hana has a fantastic dinner, very good.

Here is a website dedicated to The Polynesian http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/

And here is a message board dedicated to WDW: www.disboards.com

Have a great vacation!

My husband and I did this same itinerary. 4 days park and 3 days cruise several years ago. There is a wonderful restaurant in that hotel. Not to be missed. We did the main park, Epcot, some beach place, and MGM. Then we did the cruise. We ate at the park. The Disney Island you will go to is very nice. Sounds like a nice family vacation. Have fun.

You have a very nice trip planned!!

It will take about 20 minutes or so to travel from Disney to Universal. If you plan to do just one park at Universal, I would recommend Islands of Adventure. Lots of thrill rides and big fun - even for your five year old.

We enjoyed Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner. The Lodge itself is beautiful and Boma is a fun place to eat.

Check out disboards.com. You will find a lot of valuable information on that site.

Have fun!

Each Disney Park will take at least one full day, so I think that you are pretty ambitious in considering a side trip to Universal Studios, which will also take a full day. If a four day pass is included in your package, I would consider focusing on everything that Walt Disney World has to offer and saving Universal for another trip. Do check out the disboards however.
